Re: Kurt Busch
Auburn matched up horribly against SC. Thats why SC went in to their own house and shut them out in Leinert's first game the year before. Everyone thought Arkansas was so much better than the year when they lost 70-10 against USC. They were able to keep it within 50 last year, I'll give them that much.
Ditto, 01 Miami rolls anyone in Pasadena that year including Tennesee.

Re: Kurt Busch
that 01 miami team is one of the top 3 college teams to ever play ball.......if you took the vols and huskers and put the rosters together........the canes still win by 2 TDs

Re: Kurt Busch
Miami was great that year no doubt. I wasn't trying to knock them with my post, just saying that UF wasn't even the best team in their division that year. Of course, neither was Nebraska, yet they made it.

Re: Kurt Busch
I know UT beat UF in 01, but I believe UF was a bit better(as far as playing "the whole"). I would call that one an upset, but at the same time, UF had many years where they didnt live up to their potential.

Re: Kurt Busch
Wow, just wow at this thread. In reality, if we start counting non AP/UPI(Coaches poll national titles) UT has 6, Miami has 8 including something like 5-6 in a row between 85-92.
Not sure about the whole college coaches thing but JJ is realisitically the only NFL hall of fame coach between the two programs and while UT does put out some pretty good NFL talent, theres really no arguement that Miami is THE king of the hill in producing talent. The streak of first rounders, the amount of first rounders, the amount of pro bowlers, etc. Guys like Henderson and Hayesworth are nice players until you put them beside Jerome Brown and Sapp. Guys like Stallworth, McGee and Harper are pretty decent players until you compare them to Irvin, Moss, Johnson, Wayne, Perriman, and Blades. O-line guys are really the only arguement a UT fan could have. Searcy and McKinnie werent bad though.

Re: Kurt Busch
People talk about Oregon putting up a fight better than NU.
Oregon would have been raped with a sandpaper condom had they faced out D in 01

Re: Kurt Busch
Joey Harrington would have been another Grant Noel. PBuch and Two Zereo EReed boy were like magnets. Anytime the ball was in the area, they were catching it and housing it. Ive never seen anything like those 2 guys in my life. Rolle and Rumph never had those types of ball skills.

Re: Kurt Busch
I'm like you Cane Fans in that my 2 favorite teams reside in the ACC...But I never argue against the SEC, I just feal nowadays they are almost uncomparible top to bottom with any other...And for the Big12 fans, I found alot of truth in what the Florida lineman said after the game this year
"We played 3 or 4 teams that could've beat OSU this bad on any given Sunday"
